At the award ceremony, which was held digitally this year due to pandemic conditions, the evaluation of the last year was discussed in the CIO Awards panel as every year. Panelists touched on the digital transformation accelerated by the pandemic, the ways in which innovative technologies are used and the future of IT. The CIO Panel was attended by Red Hat Country Manager Haluk Tekin, Turkcell Digital Business Services General Manager Kaan Turan, Bulutistan Sales General Manager Gökhan Gençtürk, Etiya Assistant General Manager Barış Uca and SAS Deputy General Manager Emre Ultav.
Kaan Turan said, “Habits are changing, as is the way of doing business. Our new titles started to be words such as speed, adaptation, courage and vision. In this award platform, it inspires me to share the vision, strategy and experiences of the important names of the sector. Turkey, in the technology race is not too late, unlike at many points we’re up again. I believe that we will carry our companies and our country to much better positions in this race with our valuable colleagues ”.
Smarter projects competed
Speaking about the vision of the CIO Awards and its progress while moving into the future, CXO Media Founding Partner and CIO Update Editor-in-Chief Murat Yıldız said, “When we started in 2010, most of the projects that participated were based on infrastructure modernization. CIOs applied for CIO Awards with projects where they renewed their software and hardware infrastructures. Over time, we see a serious transformation in the structure of applications and winning awards. We are witnessing the transformation from the concept of ‘Chief Information Officer’ to ‘Chief Information Officer’ towards ‘Chief Innovation Officer’.
